A life changing sign…
Hey there Subscriber First Name, wanna hear a crazy story? It's equal parts personal and mystical and it all began when I met my spirit guide Bert! And as you read through, enjoy a powerful frequency upgrade (infused within these words) and a fun activity at the end.
Flashback to 7 years ago, I was a hot mess health-wise and after seeing countless doctors and specialists and trying every protocol under the sun, I found myself spiraling deeper into dysregulation and disillusionment. I finally decided to flip the script and go see a spiritual healer I’d heard on a "random" podcast who just happened to be in my area.
This was my first experience with anything metaphysical, yet when the healer started talking about soul families, the afterlife and the holy monad, I felt right at home. While I received Energy Work, the practitioner explained that I had a spirit guide named Bert who was sitting at my side offering support and comic relief. I left the appointment feeling expansive, hopeful and more connected than I had in years. Part of my spiritual homework post-appointment was to engage with my guide Bert. I still wasn’t entirely convinced of his presence so I decided to write him a letter and ask him for a physical sign.
By the end of the week, I was feeling down in the dumps again. The post-appointment glow had faded, my symptoms had flared and I had all but forgotten about my letter to Bert. The cold dreary Seattle weather matched my mood but I was determined to get out for a walk. Instead of going on my usual neighborhood stroll, I felt called to venture across town to an unlikely park.
I was anxious, depressed, stressed out and questioning everything in my life. I walked aimlessly along the winding cement path, rain drops and tears streaming down my face. Across the park, a massive oak tree caught my eye. The tree was much further away than I felt comfortable walking due to POTS episodes and the fear of not being able to get back to my car. Just as I was about to turn around and head home, some unseen force offered me a boost of courage and extra physical bandwidth to keep going.
As I approached the tree, I saw a big mound of dirt piled up around its trunk with the tiniest speck of white popping out. Although I was hesitant to bend down for the risk of falling, that same undeniable presence urged me forward. Before I knew it, I was on the ground digging away. To my absolute surprise and delight, I literally dug up the exact 'sign' I had requested from Bert!
In my letter to Bert, written just a few days before, I had asked him “to show me a unicorn please”, and there she was! In the most unsuspecting of places, on one of my darkest days, this gorgeous gem encrusted plastic unicorn with a beautiful flowing rainbow mane and tail, graced my life and changed me forever!
I looked around to see if there were any kids who might have left the unicorn behind, but there was no one in sight. I knew deep in my heart that I was meant to take her home with me. I cleaned her up and named her Crystal.
This sacred sign from my spirit guide was just the reassurance I needed to trust that I wasn’t alone, that I had Bert on my side, that there was abundant wonder and hope to connect with and that something much larger was at play. I was grateful to work with Crystal’s energy for several years and over that time she became a dear friend, healing support and unwavering reminder of spirit. I’d often pop her in my backpack and bring her along to medical appointments and park outings.
Funny enough, the last day I spent with Crystal was a photo-shoot for my Distance Energy Healing website. We had a blast and captured some silly pics. When I got home after the shoot, I realized Crystal was nowhere to be found. My initial upset was soon replaced by a higher-level understanding…there was no coincidence that Crystal got left behind that day, and in my mind’s eye, I saw her galloping away on a glorious mission to help others.
Several months later, a Shamanic reading revealed that my personal “Power Animal” (the animal spirit that was present at my birth and continues to support me energetically) was the unicorn! This brought me great joy and helped affirm that as infinite beings of light, we don't need to attach ourselves to physical possessions…for energy cannot be destroyed and we’re always connected to the people and beings we love.
I share this story as a reminder of how powerful spirit truly is...for spirit is what we truly are. And sometimes, a sign from the “unseen” is the most welcome medicine we can receive. I continue to find great comfort in knowing that we’re always guided, loved and cherished, that we’re never alone and that magic truly abounds. How cool that we get to receive signs from our spirit teams and loved ones passed as we navigate these dynamic human lives!
Ready to ask your guides for a sign?!
Step 1. Ask Away ~ remember there's no right or wrong way to connect with spirit, so simply follow your intuition. You can write a letter or speak out-loud or in your head.
Ask your guide, spirit team, guardian angel or a passed loved one (human or animal) to show you a physical sign of their presence. Request something that is quite unique, specific or unexpected so that you will easily recognize it as a sign from spirit.
Step 2. Surrender ~ and trust that the universe will show you the sign when the time is just right. As much as you can, remain patient, excited and ultra-delighted when it arrives!
Step 3. Spirit Journal ~ jot down all of the sacred synchronicities, crazy coincidences, magical moments, revelations and any physical signs that manifest in a designated journal or notes section on your phone. By recounting these spirit interactions and referencing them often, you help entrain your systems to higher-vibrational frequencies which then help you attract even more sacred encounters!
