The back of the heart chakra and what old souls are here to learn

if you're reading this email, you're likely an old soul who’s been around the earth-block more than a few times! As an experienced spirit, you've probably already mastered the skill of being a kind, generous and compassionate person who truly wants the best for all. I bet you have a big beautiful heart and caring for others is one of your many super-powers!

Empaths, sensitives and old souls are experts are dishing out the love and supporting others, yet sometimes struggle receiving energy back or giving as much love to themselves. One of the important reasons why older souls return to earth school is to learn how to receive, how to embody deeper levels of self-love and how to fill-up their own cups so they’re overflowing with the most glorious rainbow sparkle elixir that creates waves of positive change across space and time…while being awesome examples for others!

With Valentine's Day coming up this weekend, let’s practice some SELF-LOVE and chat about the heart chakra, especially the backside of this powerful energy vortex which is all about RECEIVING.

And a loving reminder that this email contains an energy upgrade for your heart chakra and a radiant dose of Reiki. To enhance the impact, imagine a beautiful emerald green beam of light flowing continuously into the back of your heart. And read all the way to the end to soak up the full frequency infusion!

The heart chakra (or Anahata in Sanskrit) is a swirling ball of deep green energy often associated with the heart, lungs, thymus gland, breasts, rib-cage, hands and elbows. Unlike the other main charkas that measure around 2.5 inches in diameter, the heart charka (especially in old souls and empaths), can be massive and actually fill up the entire chest cavity (no wonder we feel so much)! Interestingly, the backside of the heart chakra is meant to take in more energy than any other area of the physical body.

Signs of a balanced heart charka include feeling connected to the world at large, healthy relationships, loving freely while honoring oneself, setting healthy boundaries, self-acceptance and appreciation, feeling the energy of unconditional love, having the ability to forgive and enjoying a sense of peace.

A block, leak or imbalance in the heart chakra can manifest as difficulty trusting or opening up, holding grudges or replaying past hurts, people-pleasing, poor boundaries, over-giving or loosing oneself in others, feeling unworthy, avoiding help, staying in unhealthy relationships or attracting narcissists, feeling isolated, resentful or having physical ailments related to the heart or lungs, such as tightness in the chest, circulation problems, tension in the neck or shoulders, irregular heart beat or shallow breathing.

Below are some fun, unique and deeply nourishing ways to support your heart chakra and practice receiving high-vibrational energy on Valentine's Day and beyond!

~ Feel The Love ~ Sit with your dog or cat or think about your kids, your favorite tree or a friend that you love dearly. As you feel a deep sense of love and appreciation for that animal, person or tree, reflect back that same level of emotional love to yourself. Hold this high vibrational energy of self-love in your system for as long as you can. Sense your heart and entire auric field filling up with this expansive frequency.

~Loving touch ~ spend a few minutes lovingly stroking your arm, hand, belly, face, neck or head while thanking your body for all its magic!

~ Be Your Own Secret Admirer ~ write a love letter or valentine to yourself and read it out-loud while lovingly gazing in the mirror. Keep this letter on hand to reference next time you're having a rough day or need some extra support.

~ Suck It Up ~ the next time you receive a nice email or text, or a compliment, gift, praise, spirit synchronicity or even a smile from a stranger, take a moment to pause and imagine that beautiful energy of recognition flowing into the back of your heart. Pulling in energy through the back of your heart chakra helps wake up your receptivity sensors and trains your system to remain open to all the good vibes the universe wants to send your way!

~ Anoint Your Heart ~ lovingly dab some honey on your heart and leave it there for 5-15 minutes as you get ready for your day, rest, meditate or send supportive energy to yourself. You can then wash it off or rub it in. This is a powerful Shamanic practice that integrates the potent bee medicine which is all about higher-love, community and the greatest good for the whole.

~ Take A Compliment Shower ~ spend 3-5 minutes showering yourself with verbal compliments and praise. Do this out-loud as the frequency of your own voice moving through your throat charka is incredibly powerful and your subconscious is always listening. Be as expressive, playful, sincere or silly as you like.

~ Cacao ~ sip a ceremonial dose of cacao or enjoy any-kind of chocolate (the darker and less processed the better)

~ Crystal Care ~ assemble a LOVE altar with any do-dads you adore or spend time hanging out with your favorite gem friends. Rose Quartz, Prehnite, Pink Lemurian Quartz, Chrysoprase, Moldavite and Botswana Agate are a few of my favorites for supporting the heart, but feel free to use whichever crystals you resonate with most.

~ Tea Time ~ make a lovely cup of rose tea (or your favorite brew). Hold the mug close to your heart and speak words of love into the liquid. Sip slowly and intentionally as you soak up the beautiful energies for a heart-expanding experience.

~ What If ~ write and recite some positive "What If" quest-ions about self-love, your heart or love in general. Below are a few examples to use or you can create your own! What if my heart is open to receiving all the love and magic the universe has to share? What if love flows to me in avalanches of abundance? What if I honor, cherish and adore myself? What if I pour as much love into myself as I do into others? What if I look for love and find it everywhere? What if I love and accept myself?

If the thought of loving yourself feels uncomfortable or kicks up any resistance, that’s a great sign to lean in more and drink down an extra dose! If you worry that all this self-adoration might turn into arrogance or pretense, rest assured that old souls aren’t easily wrapped up in self-centeredness. And more importantly, remember that the universe truly loves everyone and everything (including you) unconditionally...so when you step into the powerful vibration of self-love, you not only align with source consciousness, but you also bring more energy to your upper chakras, allowing your aura to blossom and expand in all of its brilliance!

And just a fun side-note, I recently wrapped up an amazing course by Marie Manuchehri. I’m still buzzing from her beautiful teachings which inspired this email. I’d highly recommend her 8 week online class, "A Deep Dive into the Essence of Self Love”.

Sending smiles and emerald green heart blissings from the "Emerald City".
